Starting My Business
Why Did I Decide To Start My Business?
My mother has been an Independent Consultant for Arbonne since I was three due to the severity of my younger brother's eczema. Every night he would scream and cry due to the lotions she was purchasing hurting his skin rather than helping it heal. My grandmother gave my mom the Arbonne Baby-line when it was still around, but she didn't believe it could work, so she threw it out. That night, my brother woke up again, screaming and crying, keeping her up, so she went through the garbage, looking for the lotion to see if it would help, and it did.
She felt relief, so she signed up as an Independent Consultant, and the rest is history.
My earliest memory of using Arbonne was when my mother would make my brother and me the strawberry-flavoured vitamin mix Arbonne made for kids. It was my favourite thing ever, and I was distraught when they discontinued it. Arbonne has been a large part of my life due to the number of years that my mother has put into it. I've seen the products change, become discontinued, new products become available, and be able to use them as they become available.
I'm in university and have 30 dollars in my bank account as I write this. I'm on day 5 of having my business, and I hope to get my first order soon, as it will allow me to experience the life I could create due to the ability to work from anywhere in the world. Travelling has been something I have enjoyed my entire life, and being able to go anywhere on a whim would be something I look forward to in the future.
I know that Arbonne is a very extroverted organization. As an introvert, I will need help getting orders the traditional way. Still, if I put in the work in the next few weeks, creating ideas online that will bring in customers we hadn't had beforehand, I'll be able to bring in orders. I get along with many people that I meet, but I also become very overwhelmed by it at the same time. I love expressing what I enjoy with others, so I want to give Arbonne a shot. Being able to work for a company while being an introvert, and I know I can do it, so I am.
Me As A Person.
Growing up, I always had a passion for baking, wanting to open my own bakery selling cupcakes of many different flavours and allowing myself to create recipes that not only I would enjoy, but the people of my community would enjoy. I started my business selling cupcakes to people who needed them for community functions or birthday parties, making over one thousand dollars at the age of 9. Most of that money came from a function called Storytime In The Park, located at Memorial Park in Hope, British Columbia. I made 850 dollars that day; for a 9-year-old, that's a lot of money.
With the money I earned from selling the cupcakes, I could buy myself a blue KitchenAid mixer that I had been wanting since my aunt would allow me to use hers when I would hang out at her place. Baking has been a large part of my life, but after experiencing working at a bakery, I knew that opening my own wouldn't be for me. It's still something I enjoy doing as it's a way to release the stress of school and work, but I'm also unable to due to my intolerance to gluten. Do I still eat it? Yes, I want to enjoy what I make because it takes good. Do I get a stomach ache? Yes, depending on what it is that I ate.
Food has been a large part of my life, and one of my earliest memories is from when I was 2. My mother took me to Pony Club, something she had done her entire childhood, and all the women were so kind and excited that I was there. Before we left, one of the women brought me to the shed, something my brother has since turned into a mini shop, and gave me a donut. My mother thinks that it's insane that I remember something like that, but it's something that I've always done. Remembering details about food, I mean.
In seventh grade, my teacher recommended that I read Rick Riordan's series Percy Jackson and the Olympians because she took notice of my fascination with Greek mythology and legends. My obsession with the series continued for two years, reading any series Rick wrote. The Kand Chronicles, The Heroes of Olympus, Magnus Chase, and soon be the new book called The Sun and The Star, based on Nico Di Angelo and his relationship with his boyfriend. When I tell people that I love Rick Riordan's books, I mean it, and I'll buy every book he publishes.
The series that Rick Riordan wrote inspired me to start writing for myself. I would write fanfiction about Percy and his friends attending high school and living everyday life. I would create stories that allowed me to fall asleep more easily. Rick Riordan inspires me to become a writer, and I hope to tell him someday.
While in high school, I thought I would do something in the culinary world. Still, after volunteering at the local university, I took over the kitchen while the culinary program students prepared for their final exams. I participated in this from 8th grade until 10th grade, as it would give me a sense of whether I would enjoy it in the long run. I realized that I wouldn't. The teacher who organized everything was trying to push me into culinary, but I realized that I wasn't into it, so I had to explain to them that I was interested in writing more than cooking or baking. I love cooking on my own time, not for other people. Writing is where I see myself going.
A few days ago, I spoke to my mother, and she mentioned how Arbonne will allow me to work on future projects that I feel are right for me and not have to do the projects that I have to do because I'm short on money. I want to become a screenwriter, and with the help of Arbonne, I'll be able to do what I love. Writing comes easily to me, and sometimes I lose interest in it, but that hasn't stopped me from going into schooling that will allow me to one day pursue what I want to do with my life.
What is Arbonne?
Arbonne is a multi-level marketing (MLM) company that offers a variety of personal care and wellness products. The company was founded in 1980 in the United States and has since expanded to other countries worldwide.
Arbonne's product line includes skincare, hair care, makeup, nutrition supplements, and other wellness products. The company prides itself on using high-quality, natural ingredients in its products and claims to be environmentally responsible.
Arbonne also offers a business opportunity for individuals to become independent consultants and earn income by selling Arbonne products and building a team of consultants. As an MLM company, Arbonne's business model relies on its consultants to sell products directly to consumers and recruit new consultants to join their team.
What is Multi-Level Marketing?
Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) is a marketing strategy in which a company sells its products or services through a network of independent distributors or consultants. These distributors not only sell the products or services directly to consumers but also recruit new distributors to join their team and sell the products or services.
MLM companies typically offer their distributors commissions and bonuses based on their sales volume and the sales volume of the distributors they recruit. This creates a multi-level compensation structure, where distributors can earn commissions not only on their own sales but also on the sales of the distributors they bring into the business.
While some MLM companies are legitimate and offer real opportunities for individuals to earn income, others have been criticized for being pyramid schemes, focusing on recruiting new distributors rather than selling products or services to consumers. It is essential for individuals considering joining an MLM company to research the company and its business model thoroughly before investing time and money.
Questions?
If you, the person reading this, have any questions about me, Arbonne, or even the book series I mentioned earlier, let me know, and I'll answer them. I appreciate the time you took to read this, as it allows me to express myself in a way I'm not used to. Photos and videos will be coming soon, I promise.
